Jay Quine Comments: The Word "Baptized"

Romans 6:3-4

Once a graduate, you are forever identified with your college. We don’t say it this way, but we could say you’ve been baptized into your alma mater! The bible doesn’t always use the word “Baptized” for being dunked in water. While that is its original meaning, the word Baptism was also used to show a connection or identity. The people of Israel were baptized into Moses—they identified with Moses. So to, by faith Christians are baptized into Christ; identified with his death, burial and resurrection. Remember this word with me, Dr. Jay Quine. As a cloth is with colored dye, you are as identified with Christ’s experience so that you should now live with Him.

Dr. Jay Quine: Remember the Word "Adoption"

Romans 8:15-17

In ancient world cultures the first born often inherited all the rights, responsibilities and privileges of the family. This was especially true if the first born was a son. But if that son grew to be an irresponsible reprobate, an outsider could be adopted into the family and take the position of the first born. The Bible teaches that not only has every believer has been adopted into God’s family, but each and every one of us adopted as sons—as if each one of us is the first born. Each and every one of us adopted with the full inheritance of eternal life to be glorified with Christ. Every believer has first place; no one is disinherited. This is Dr. Jay Quine. Remember the word.
